Is creating a website and then never using it a valid hobby?
I sure hope so, because it’s certainly one of my hobbies. I always want a little space for myself, my own little corner of the internet, but then once I build one I find I’m too chicken to say anything, even though my head is full of so many thoughts all the time. To my knowledge this is probably the 5th website I’ve started in about 10 years or so. Fifth time’s a charm?
Well, might as well start with the basics. I’m Sydney, a human being who is doing her best to live her life with intentionality. I’ve struggled with mental health and understanding my place in the world all my life. This year, 2025, is the first year that, I think, things are finally clicking and I’m finding spaces (or making spaces) where I feel that I, despite my neurodivergence, can belong.
My interests over the course of my life have been boundless and I’ve had various phases of hobbies I’ve dabbled in. Currently, though, my passions in life are reading and yarn crafts. Also, if you talk to me for any period of time, you will quickly realize that birds are my most special interest and have been since I was a kid.
Hopefully, I can use this space to explore my thoughts, be brave, and put a little bit of myself out into the world for a change. Thank you for coming along for the ride!
Attached is a photo of a snail I took on my walk home from work the other day. Thank you for reading! Maybe we can be friends.
